 Description of camp-in:

Groups of 20 or more have the opportunity to take part in one of the most unique ways to visit Liberty Science Center as they explore our exhibits under the cover of darkness. Campers enter the building and begin an amazing night of discovery about the transmission of disease, the art of communication, and eating habits of exotic animals. With Live Science Demonstrations and exhibit galleries full of exciting hands on activities, it’s a wonder if you’ll ever get to sleep!

A chaperone to child ratio of 1:5 is required and campers need to be in first through eighth grade. The Camp-In begins at 6:00 pm and ends at 9:00 am, however, campers are welcome to remain in the building the entire next day.

Camp-In participants also receive snack, breakfast, a presentation in the IMAX® Dome Theater, and a HI-DEF 3D Show in the Joseph D. Williams Science Theater.  The café will be open for purchase of a light dinner Saturday night.

Camp-Ins can help your scouts work toward their badges!

All youth campers receive a souvenir patch that allows the camper free admission to the exhibit floor through September 1, 2009.

Campers attending on a Co-Ed night will have the opportunity to see the Mummies: Secret of the Pharaoh in the IMAX Domed Theater. Campers will also be able to take part in a scavenger hunt on the exhibit floors.

This should be a great event!

-Susan
