Proposed Gettysburg Itinerary (6/27/08-6/29/08)

 

Friday, June 27th

  1. Leave from the Church early morning (8 AM)
  2. Drive to the campgrounds and get set-up (Brown Bag Lunches)
  3. Go to Gettysburg National Military Park and Walk the Johnny Reb Trail (3 miles) (Everybody)
  4. Return to the Campgrounds for Dinner
  5. Possibilities Of:
    1. Take a Haunted Tour (Scouts who want to)
    2. Plan activities at the Campsite
    3. See a Jazz Band (Rio Clemente Trio) (Possible activity for all, or split up if older guys doing ghost tour)

 

Saturday, June 28th

  1. Eat Breakfast at the campsite (make brown bag lunches)
  2. Head back to Gettysburg National Military Park
  3. Newer Guys- Take the Bus Tour/ Wax Museum/ Soldiers National Museum / Lincoln Train Museum

Older Guys/Willing Newer Guys- Walk the Billy Yank Trail (9 miles)

  1. Go back to Campsite (and possibly break down camp)
  2. Choice 1: Go to a Motor Sports Arena (about 1 ½ hours away), eat dinner there (barbecue), and camp there overnight

Choice 2: Stay in Gettysburg after the Billy Yank Trail/After other newer guys finish museums:

    1. Everybody sees another museum / eat dinner at a restaurant in Gettysburg OR cook at the campsite/ Plan activities for the campsite
    2. See another museum/ Cook at Campsite OR eat dinner at a resaurant/See another ghost tour OR plan activities for the campsite
    3. Eat Dinner at campsite OR at restaurant

Older Guys/Willing Newer Guys- Go on a Ghost Train Tour (ghost tour through Gettysburg in a train) / Regular Ghost Tour

Other Newer Guys- Play Mini Golf in Gettysburg (Or Possibly Everyone)

 

Sunday, June 29th

  1. Eat breakfast at campsite
  2. Break down everything and get ready to leave
  3. Tour of Adams County Underground Railroad Tour before leaving
  4. Stop for lunch on the way back
  5. Return home in the late afternoon/evening
